Raise awareness
Untold Ukraine aims to introduce the Irish public to contemporary Ukrainian culture, shaped by its long and rich history, and its present fight for freedom. It will introduce Ukrainian directors, photographers, artists, creators, chefs, dancers. Those who are creating Ukraine today.
Raise money
It's important for us to contribute financially to Ukraine's fight for freedom, so we will be raising money for humanitarian aid, defence and children.
We aim to raise 130,000 EUR in July
All the proceeds from our events will go to Ukraine. You can follow our fundraising here.

Untold/Ukraine is delighted to invite you to the launch of its 2022 Summer Series - a collection of cultural events to connect with contemporary Ukrainian culture.

Sixteen-year-old Masha (Maria Fedorchenko) and her friends Yana (Yana Isaienko) and Senia (Arsenii Markov) are each feeling their way towards adulthood, testing boundaries and making mistakes. In her naturalistic style, Gornostai presents a rounded take through intelligent use of shifting viewpoints, allowing this generation, their faults as well as their humour and strengths, to come across as universally recognisable.

The focus of Lithuanian documentarian Mantas Kvedaravičius’s film is the Ukrainian port city that had been a site of significant conflict in the aftermath of 2014’s Maidan Revolution. Despite the ever-present destruction and danger of death, citizens deliberately and defiantly carried on with life as normal wherever possible.

Ostap Kostyuk’s meditative and poignant documentary follows three shepherds over the course of four years: the experienced 83-year-old Ivan, no longer able to devote his summer to the practice; 39-year-old Vasyl; and 10-year-old Ivanko, a schoolboy whose reluctance to follow in his father’s footsteps is emblematic of this vanishing vocation.

The film features Ukraine's most talented dancers who perform and improvise to the music of Mykola Leontovych, the composer who created "Carol of the Bells" ("Shchedryk") — one of the most famous Christmas songs in the world.
